Spatial temporal distributive features of autumn (September November) precipitation and temperature in China is analyzed in this paper in the context of 1951-1999 data,the high autumn precipitation regions are found,and then dry/wet autumns and warm/cold autumns are determined and climatic change features of dry/wet years and warm/cold years are investigated.At last,the large scale general circulation background responsible for the autumn climatic anomaly in China,especially in the middle lower reaches of the Yangtze River are studied using the 500hPa geopotential height data.
