Transactions of Atmospheric Sciences was founded in 1978 and sponsored by Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology. It is now the chief editor and Academician Wang Huijun. This journal mainly publishes innovative scientific research achievements and scientific research progress in the field of atmospheric science, reflects the academic level and development direction of atmospheric science, tracks the frontier of discipline development, pays attention to the combination of theory and application, and promotes academic exchanges and cooperation and talent training at home and abroad. Transactions of Atmospheric Sciences is a bimonthly journal published at home and abroad. The authors and readers are mainly scientific researchers of atmospheric science and related disciplines and teachers and students of relevant majors in Colleges and universities.
Transactions of Atmospheric Sciences has been included by CNKI, Wanfang Database, CQVIP, etc, and was included in “A Guide to the Core Journal of China 2020”(by Peking University Library), "Source Journal for Chinese Scientific and Technical papers and Citations" and "Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD)" of China Institute of science and technology information. It has been included by Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA), meteorology and Astrophysics Abstracts (MGA), cabi abstracts published by the International Center for agriculture and Biology (Cabi), and Japan Science and Technology (JST).
Transactions of Atmospheric Sciences has always been in the same direction as the construction goal of “first-class characteristic high-level university” of Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology. The academic influence and quality of journals have always been in the forefront of domestic university science and technology journals. They have been rated as excellent journals in China, East China and Jiangsu Province for many times. In 2018, they won the "top 100" science and technology journals of Chinese universities.
