In tkis paper a new stability index ZI is designed for convenience of calculation. Its thermodynamic implication, dynamic feature and indicative significance to the convective weather process are discussed. A method of Convective weather forecasting is thus given, which is proved to be of practical value in the four severe weather occurrences in East China in recent two years.
