An algorithm for image coding method is introduced based on tree-structured wavelet decomposition.According to some special energy rules,it can decompose adaptively the images.It also can choose proper coding method in accordance with the characters and positions of subbands in wavelet-image.The experiment shows that the new method can obtain high compression ratio under the circumstances of high image quantization.
